New waiata for senior Kapa Haka - Hoea rā
For our first senior Kapa Haka session, students learned a new waiata written by their Kaiako Mr Gemmell. Here's a movie of them learning the tune and kupu. Check out the kupu and translation on the 'waiata' page.
Poroporoaki
This poroporoaki waiata was written up in Waitangi by one of our students (Rocky) and Mr Gemmell last weekend. It was taught to our kapa haka group on Friday afternoon. You can find the kupu and translation of this waiata under the 'waiata' tab at the top of our blog.
Senior Kapa Haka
We started after school practices for the Year 7 & 8 Kapa Haka group on Friday. They start at 3.15pm and finish at 4.30pm in the Wharefono.
